Well, so far it's just me (Kristen Marra Marek), myself and I running this show! I grew up in a very creative environment in a suburb of Cleveland. There was always some sort of baking, crafting, gardening or sewing going.
I graduated from OSU with a degree in Art Education. I moved to Clintonville and worked at North Broadway Children's Center teaching Kindergarten and part-time pre-school. During this time, I was fortunate to work with and learn from several excellent teachers that were also artists. While teaching at NBCC I launched and organized the first ever all-school art show that is still going strong today, almost 25 years later. I later went on to homeschool my own children. During this time I ran a successful blog, PepperPaints, that focused on arts and crafts for children and have taught art classes to several homeschool groups and co ops over the years. I am a photographer and enjoy dabbling in many different art forms and mediums. I am also a member of Mother Artists at Work (MAW) where I helped to organize KidzArtz, a city -wide kids art show.
My husband and I have lived in Clintonville for 25 years. It has always been my dream to own my own studio. So, when this neighborhood space became available in 2015, I figured it was now or never! I love art in all its many forms; visual, music, dance etc, l am energized being around art and creative people. Having the opportunity to create an environment that supports and encourages children in their artistic endeavors is a dream job for me!
